Carlos M. Icaza
Co-founder and CEO
Carlos has more than 20 years of engineering and management experience. Carlos managed various teams at Adobe including Flash Lite, Flash Mobile Authoring, and Flash Cast. He was responsible for creating and developing Adobe's entire mobile authoring strategy, now deployed across the entire Adobe Creative Suite.
Carlos has a proven track record of managing and shipping industry-standard products including Flash Lite, Flash Authoring, Adobe Mobile Device Central, Adobe Illustrator, SVG, Adobe Pagemill, Micrografx Windows Draw, and Deneba Canvas.
Walter Luh
Co-founder and CTO
Walter is the creator of Corona.
Prior to Ansca, he led the Adobe Flash Lite engineering team. As Lead Architect, he achieved technical breakthroughs, pioneered advanced mobile research, and jump-started strategic relationships with Texas Instruments and Cisco. With over a decade of R&D experience, he has a proven track record of shipping successful products from mobile runtimes like Flash Lite to industry-standard desktop products such as Adobe Illustrator and Apples Final Cut Pro.
Walter holds an undergraduate degree in Physics from Swarthmore College, and a master's in computer science from Stanford University.
Eric Herrmann
Director of Engineering
Eric has a wide range of software development experience, including Pixar, Adobe, and several startups. At Adobe, Eric worked on Flash Lite, Flash Builder, Contribute, and Flash Professional. He has successfully shipped over a dozen software applications. He holds three patents, and two more are pending.
Eric holds an AB from the University of California, Berkeley. He enjoys playing guitar, photography, and using power tools as often as possible.
Evan Kirchhoff
Senior Software Engineer
Before joining Ansca, Evan worked for Adobe as a Senior Flash Developer on the Verizon Wireless "Dashboard" project. In addition, Evan was the cofounder of Comrade Software, a Flash and mobile development company. Among other projects, Comrade delivered Flash mobile games to the carrier decks of both Verizon Wireless and Softbank Japan.
Evan holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Manitoba, and reached ABD status in the University of Michigan's doctoral program in Philosophy.
